INSTALLATION & USE

Installing the Gap-A-Flow Air Gap

  1. Install in the last 5 feet of indirect drain piping, positioned in the down leg of the drain line where gravity flow is established.
  2. Mount vertically on a wall using the molded clamp groove and included Jiffy Clip, or tilt to a minimum 45-degree down-angle if clearance requires, keeping the window opening on the top side.
  3. Connect drain line to inlet port using NPT threads or compatible couplings (P/N 51023 or 211213). For flows under 1 GPM using 1/4" F.I.P. threads, seat injector washer 211207 fully in top of unit with a wooden pencil or similar tool.
  4. Adjust the rotatable splash guard to minimize splatter through the air gap openings while maintaining code-compliant backflow protection.
COMPATIBILITY

Works With Softeners and RO Systems

The 211211 Gap-A-Flow integrates into drain lines for water softeners, reverse osmosis systems, and other water treatment equipment requiring indirect drain air gap protection. Compatible with Air Gap International couplings P/N 51023 and 211213 for secure inlet connections. The 1/4" F.I.P. threads accommodate low-flow applications under 1 GPM when paired with injector washer P/N 211207, making this unit suitable for both residential and light commercial installations where backflow prevention is required by plumbing codes.

🔧 Pro Tip: Mount the unit with easy access to the rotatable splash guard so you can adjust it after observing actual drain flow patterns. The guard orientation that works best often depends on whether your drain line pulses or flows steadily, and having adjustment room saves a remount later.
