How to Install the MediaGuard Distributor
- Twist-lock the MediaGuard distributor onto the valve base of your softener or filter system
- Slide the unit down over the riser tube until it seats properly (not compatible with Turbulator riser tubes)
- Assemble the four internal chambers and fill with KDF-55 media as directed by manufacturer specifications
- Complete system assembly and run a full backwash cycle to settle the media and purge air from chambers
Works With Most Standard Systems
The Canpro MediaGuard 1.05" distributor fits between control valves and tanks on most water softener and filter systems using standard riser tubes. It is not compatible with Turbulator riser designs. The four-chamber swirl design increases contact time between water and KDF-55 media, removing chlorine that would otherwise degrade ion exchange resin and shorten its lifespan from 7-10 years to 15-20 years. During backwash, flow reverses to lift resin and clean sediment while revitalizing the KDF media by releasing oxidized contaminants.
