Hanna (HI98127) pHEP4; DIG. pH & TEMP. (0-14pH); W-P, ATC
Hanna HI98127 pHEP4 Technical Details
| Model Number | HI98127 pHEP4 |
| pH Range | 0.0 to 14.0 pH |
| pH Resolution | 0.1 pH |
| Temperature Compensation | Automatic (ATC) |
| Electrode Type | Interchangeable screw connector (compatible with all Hanna pH electrodes) |
| Display | Large LCD with pH and temperature readout |
| Construction | Waterproof housing |
| Typical Applications | Aquariums, pools, ponds, drinking water, hydroponics |
Setup and Calibration Procedure
- Condition the electrode by soaking the tip in pH 7 buffer solution for at least 2 hours before first use (electrode ships dry and must be hydrated).
- Calibrate the meter using one-point or two-point calibration with Hanna pH buffer solutions (pH 4.01, 7.01, or 10.01 recommended, sold separately).
- Rinse the electrode with distilled or deionized water between samples and gently blot dry with a lint-free tissue.
- Submerge the electrode in the sample liquid, allow reading to stabilize, then record pH and temperature values from the LCD display.
- Store the electrode wet in pH 7 buffer or storage solution to maintain responsiveness and extend electrode life.
Electrode and Accessory Options
The HI98127 pHEP4 accepts any Hanna pH electrode with a screw-in connector, allowing you to swap electrodes based on application or replace worn probes without replacing the entire meter. Calibration requires separate purchase of pH buffer solutions (pH 4.01, 7.01, and 10.01 sachets or bottles available from Hanna). Electrode storage solution and cleaning solutions are also recommended for long-term accuracy and to prevent junction fouling or glass membrane degradation.
