INSTALLATION & USE

Installing Your BAF80 Retention Tank

  1. Position the tank on a stable, level surface capable of supporting 730+ lbs when full. Ensure adequate clearance around the 25" diameter footprint and access to the 1.25" NPT connection at the top.
  2. Check factory pre-charge pressure with a standard tire gauge on the air valve before connecting to your RO system. Adjust to 2-4 PSI below system operating pressure for optimal drawdown performance.
  3. Connect to RO system output using 1.25" NPT fittings with appropriate thread sealant rated for potable water. Ensure all connections are secure before pressurizing.
  4. Slowly fill the tank and inspect all connections for leaks. Monitor initial pressure stabilization over the first 24 hours of operation.
  5. Check air pressure quarterly and adjust as needed to maintain proper diaphragm function and maximum usable capacity.
COMPATIBILITY

System Requirements

The FlexWave BAF80 is designed for light commercial reverse osmosis installations and high-demand residential systems producing 50-200 gallons per day. The 1.25" NPT connection accommodates larger flow rates typical in commercial applications. Compatible with all standard RO systems operating at or below 125 PSI. The 100% butyl diaphragm construction ensures compatibility with standard RO permeate water. Floor space requirement is approximately 5.5 sq ft with recommended clearance for service access. Verify structural load capacity before installation, as total system weight when full exceeds 700 lbs.

🔧 Pro Tip: Pre-charge pressure is critical for the BAF80's performance. Set it 2-4 PSI below your RO system's shut-off pressure to maximize the 49.5-gallon drawdown capacity. Too high and you'll sacrifice storage; too low and you'll wear out the diaphragm prematurely. Check it every three months with a low-pressure tire gauge.
