Pentek - PPC212 - 10" x 2.5" Poly Phosphate Crystals (12 oz) - Scale Inhibitor Cartridge Filter
Filter Dimensions & Media
Construction & Treatment Parameters
| Shell Material | Polypropylene with FDA-grade polypropylene pre-filter and post-filter |
| Gasket Type | Buna-N rubber for standard #10 housings |
| Maximum Hardness | 15 grains per gallon (gpg) - hardness particles kept separated to prevent scale formation when heated |
| pH Range | 6.5 to 9.0 - forms protective coating on metal surfaces against corrosion |
| Iron Sequestration | Up to 1 ppm dissolved iron - prevents staining and discoloration by keeping iron suspended in solution |
| Housing Compatibility | Fits all standard 10" and Slim Line filter housings with 2.5" sump diameter |

Where the PPC212 Works Best
The Pentek PPC212 is designed for whole-house or point-of-use installation in standard 10-inch filter housings to protect equipment from scale, rust, and iron staining. Commonly installed upstream of ice machines, coffee and vending machines, water heaters, steam equipment, dishwashers, and reverse osmosis systems in both residential and commercial environments. This cartridge does not remove hardness minerals but prevents them from forming deposits, making it ideal for areas with moderate hardness (up to 15 gpg) where traditional softening is impractical or unnecessary. Best results are achieved when water pH is between 6.5 and 9.0 and dissolved iron does not exceed 1 ppm. Replace every six months or sooner if scale or staining begins to appear.
