Mazzei - 1078 Series - 1.0” Male NPT Inlet/Outlet Connections (0.50” Barbed/Male NPT Threaded Suction Port Cap)
Mazzei 1078 Series Technical Details
| Model Series | Mazzei 1078 |
| Inlet/Outlet Connections | 1.0" Male NPT |
| Suction Port | 0.50" Barbed or Male NPT Threaded Cap |
| Material Options | Polypropylene (PP), PVDF (Natural or Dyed), ECTFE |
| Operating Principle | Differential pressure venturi with internal mixing vanes |
| Moving Parts | None |
| Certifications | NSF 61 and FDA approved (Natural PVDF) |
| Applications | Chemical injection, ozone, oxygen, air, liquid additives |
How the Mazzei 1078 Injector Operates
- Pressurized water enters the 1.0" male NPT inlet and is constricted toward the injection chamber, accelerating into a high-velocity jet stream that creates vacuum at the suction port.
- The vacuum draws liquid or gas additives through the 0.50" suction port, where internal mixing vanes create thousands of microbubbles for maximum surface area contact and solubility.
- The jet stream diffuses toward the outlet, reducing velocity and resuming normal flow in a thoroughly mixed state with minimal pressure loss.
- Monitor inlet and outlet pressure differential to ensure optimal vacuum generation at the suction port, adjusting flow rates as needed for your specific additive requirements.
Material Selection & Chemical Resistance
Choose polypropylene for cost-effective resistance to most acids and alkalis with high tensile strength and UV stability. Select PVDF for superior performance with ozone, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, chlorine, and higher temperature applications requiring NSF 61 or FDA approval. ECTFE offers extreme chemical resistance in alkaline environments above pH 10 with excellent weather resistance and low flammability. The 1078 series accommodates 1.0" NPT threaded pipe systems and works with variable suction port configurations depending on whether you need barbed connections for tubing or male NPT threads for rigid piping.
