The integrated pressure-relief button on the inlet side of the cap bleeds trapped air and pressure during cartridge changes. The 1" NPT ports support flow rates that would bottleneck in standard 3/4" housings, making this housing ideal for applications where a single 20" cartridge can handle the load if you give it the plumbing to breathe. Pentek's Big Blue platform is compatible with a wide range of chemicals and accepts sediment, carbon block, pleated polyester, and specialty cartridges in the 4.5" diameter format.
Cartridge and Application Range
This housing accepts any 20-inch cartridge with a 4.5" outer diameter, including Pentek DGD, S1, ECP, R Series, and carbon block cartridges. Common applications include whole-house sediment prefiltration, commercial water treatment, well water processing, and industrial process water. The chemical resistance of polypropylene makes it suitable for use with chlorinated water, mild acids, and a broad range of aqueous solutions.
