How to Install the CBC-BB Filter
- Shut off water supply and relieve pressure by opening a downstream faucet. Remove the Big Blue sump from the housing using a filter wrench if needed.
- Remove the old cartridge and clean the inside of the sump with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly and inspect the o-ring for wear or damage.
- Insert the new Pentek CBC-BB cartridge into the clean sump, ensuring it seats properly against the bottom.
- Apply a thin layer of food-grade silicone lubricant to the o-ring, then thread the sump back onto the housing cap hand-tight.
- Turn water supply back on slowly and check for leaks. Flush the filter for 3-5 minutes to remove any carbon fines before normal use.
Housing & Application Fit
The CBC-BB is designed for 10-inch Big Blue filter housings with 4.5-inch diameter capacity. It works well in whole-house systems, well water setups, and point-of-entry applications where chlorine taste and odor removal is needed alongside sediment and cyst reduction. Compatible with Pentek, Culligan, Watts, and other standard Big Blue housings that accept 10" x 4.5" cartridges.
