Installing Your Pentek Filter Housing

  3. Insert your chosen 10" x 2.5" filter cartridge into the clear sump, lubricate the Buna-N O-ring with food-grade silicone, and hand-tighten the blue cap until snug
  4. Open water supply slowly and use the pressure-relief button to purge trapped air, then check all connections for leaks
  5. Monitor the clear sump periodically for sediment accumulation and replace cartridges according to manufacturer recommendations or visible loading
COMPATIBILITY

Cartridge and Application Range

This Pentek housing accepts all standard 10-inch cartridges with 2.5-inch outer diameter, including sediment, carbon block, pleated polyester, and specialty media filters. The clear sump design is ideal for visual monitoring in whole-house pre-filtration, well water treatment, commercial equipment protection, and industrial process water where regular inspection is beneficial. The reinforced polypropylene construction offers excellent chemical resistance for chlorinated municipal water, well water with moderate iron and sulfur, and most non-aggressive process water applications.

🔧 Pro Tip: Keep a replacement Buna-N O-ring on hand and inspect it every three cartridge changes. A twisted, compressed, or cracked O-ring is the most common source of leaks in filter housings, and replacing it before failure saves cleanup time.
