Rusco (AFV) Auto Flush Valve
Rusco (AFV) Auto Flush Valve
The Rusco AFV is designed for installations where sediment loads are high enough to require frequent manual flushing—well water, agricultural systems, industrial feeds. It automates the purge cycle on a timer you set anywhere from 5 minutes to 24 hours, discharging accumulated sediment through a 1/2" NPT port in 3.5 seconds.
Timed Discharge Cycle
Set Interval
Adjustable cycle time from 5 minutes to 24 hours allows you to match flushing frequency to actual sediment load conditions in your water source.
Sediment Capture
Rusco or Vu-Flow sediment filter captures particulate in the sump while the AFV remains closed, maintaining system pressure at up to 200 PSI.
Automated Flush
When the timer triggers, the brass ball valve opens for exactly 3.5 seconds, discharging approximately 0.92 gallons at 30 PSI through the 1/2" NPT port to waste or drain.
Cycle Restart
Valve closes automatically, timer resets, and the system returns to normal filtration until the next scheduled purge cycle begins.

Fits All Rusco and Vu-Flow Sediment Filters
The Rusco AFV mounts to all sizes of Rusco sediment spin-down filters and Vu-Flow sediment filters regardless of port size or housing diameter. Requires 115V AC power and a drain line or waste outlet for the 1/2" NPT discharge port. Works with any micron rating screen or cartridge installed in the filter housing. Best suited for applications with consistent heavy sediment where daily or more frequent manual flushing would otherwise be required.
