Installing Your Rusco Auto Flush Valve

1. Thread one 1/2" NPT male fitting into the drain port on your Rusco Auto Flush Valve and tighten securely with thread sealant tape or pipe dope.
2. Slide one stainless steel worm drive clamp onto each end of the 24" flexible PVC tubing, then press the tubing firmly onto the barbed fittings.
Connect the second NPT fitting to your drain line or standpipe, ensuring the tubing follows a continuous downward slope to prevent backflow or air locks.
3. Tighten both worm drive clamps with a flathead or nut driver until the tubing is securely fastened to the barbed fittings without crushing the hose.
4. Test the flush valve to verify proper drainage and check all connections for leaks under operating pressure.

Works With Rusco Auto Flush Valves

The Rusco AFV-KIT is designed specifically for use with Rusco automatic flush valves installed on Rusco sediment spin-down filters. The 1/2" NPT threaded fittings match standard drain port sizes on Rusco auto flush valve assemblies. This kit provides a complete, leak-free connection between the valve and your facility's drain system without the need to source individual components separately.

🔧 Pro Tip: Always install the drain tubing with a continuous downward slope and avoid any loops or high points that could trap air or sediment. If your drain connection is more than 24" away, use standard 1/2" PVC pipe instead of extending flexible tubing beyond its intended length.
