Watts UV-COM Ultraviolet Water Disinfection Dual Lamp with Cross Fire Technology System
Watts UV-COM Technical Details
| UV Dose | 40 mJ/cm² at 95% UVT |
| Lamp Configuration | Dual lamp with Crossfire Technology |
| Flow Rates | 16.7 to 100 GPM (model dependent) |
| Connection Sizes | 1" NPT or 2" NPT |
| Lamp Life | 12 months |
| NSF Certification | NSF 55A (C196C, C222C models) |
| Water Tolerance | Up to 50 gpg hardness, 3 mg/L iron |
| Communication | 4-20mA output, Modbus capable (M models) |
System Setup and Operation
- Mount UV-COM unit on inlet water line using appropriately sized NPT connections (1" or 2" depending on model). Ensure adequate clearance for lamp replacement and wiper maintenance.
- Connect power supply matching system wattage requirements (196W to 403W). Wire 4-20mA or Modbus communication if remote monitoring is required for facility management systems.
- Commission system by verifying UV sensor readings and testing automatic wiper function. Confirm flow rate does not exceed rated GPM for selected model.
- Replace lamps annually per 12-month service interval. Self-cleaning wipers reduce maintenance frequency but should be inspected during lamp changes.
Application Range
The Watts UV-COM series is designed for residential and light commercial applications requiring Legionella control in potable water systems. Models C196C and C222C meet NSF 55A certification for municipal and well water disinfection. The dual lamp Crossfire Technology maintains disinfection effectiveness in challenging water conditions up to 50 grains per gallon hardness and 3 mg/L iron without pre-filtration, though sediment filtration is recommended for turbid sources. Modbus-capable models integrate with building automation systems for real-time UV monitoring and compliance logging.
