Installing Your Catalytic Carbon Filter
- Turn off water supply and relieve pressure from your 20" Big Blue housing by opening a downstream faucet
- Remove housing sump using a filter wrench, discard old filter, and clean the sump with mild soap and water
- Insert the Watts WCB20FF-CHLORA filter into the housing, ensuring it seats properly on the center post
- Lubricate the o-ring with silicone grease, hand-tighten the sump, and slowly turn water back on to check for leaks
- Flush filter for 5 minutes at low flow to remove any carbon fines before normal use

This filter is designed for whole-house point-of-entry systems where chloramine removal is required, particularly in municipal water systems that have switched from chlorine to chloramine disinfection. The 1 micron nominal filtration also provides sediment and particulate reduction alongside chemical contaminant removal.
