Watts (WQCHFC11) 11" Kwik-Change RO Hollow Fiber Membrane (UF)
Watts WQCHFC11 11" Kwik-Change Hollow Fiber Membrane
The Watts WQCHFC11 uses hollow fiber ultrafiltration technology to remove bacteria, cysts, and fine sediment down to 0.02 microns without the wastewater typical of reverse osmosis membranes. Designed for the Kwik-Change housing system, it delivers high flow rates and mechanical pathogen removal in point-of-use and whole-house applications where chlorine-tolerant UF is preferred over traditional RO.
What Makes Hollow Fiber UF Different
0.02 Micron Filtration
Hollow fiber membrane removes bacteria, cysts, algae, and turbidity through physical size exclusion, providing absolute filtration without chemicals
No Wastewater
Unlike RO membranes, ultrafiltration operates without a drain line or reject water, making it ideal for applications where water waste is a concern
Kwik-Change Platform
Proprietary cartridge design drops into compatible Watts housings with a quarter-turn lock, eliminating wrench tools and simplifying replacements
High Flow Capacity
Hollow fiber bundle configuration provides high surface area and flow rates suitable for demanding residential and light commercial use
Chlorine Tolerant
Can operate on chlorinated municipal water without pre-filtration damage, unlike thin-film composite RO membranes that require dechlorination
Pathogen Barrier
Provides a physical barrier against Cryptosporidium, Giardia, and bacteria without relying on chemical disinfection or UV exposure
System Integration
The WQCHFC11 membrane is designed for Watts Kwik-Change filter housings that accept 11-inch cartridges. Common in point-of-use systems where ultrafiltration is specified for microbiological safety, emergency preparedness systems, and whole-house applications where high sediment loads or pathogen concerns exist. Not a direct substitute for standard RO membranes in systems designed for dissolved solids reduction—UF does not remove salts, hardness, or TDS. Verify housing compatibility and system design requirements before ordering.
Watts has been engineering residential and commercial water treatment components for decades, and the WQCHFC11 reflects that experience in ultrafiltration design and cartridge serviceability.
