CSM RE2540-BLN Technical Details
| Manufacturer | Toray (CSM Brand) |
| Model Number | RE2540-BLN |
| Dimensions | 2.5" diameter x 40" length |
| Flow Rate | 1000 gallons per day (GPD) |
| Membrane Type | Thin Film Composite (TFM) |
| Application | Brackish water, tap water (up to 10,000 ppm TDS) |
| Energy Profile | Low energy consumption |
| Replacement Interval | Every 24 months under normal conditions |
Installing the CSM RE2540-BLN Membrane
- Shut off feed water and depressurize the RO system completely before removing the membrane housing end cap.
- Remove the old membrane by pushing it out from the feed end, then flush the housing interior with clean water to remove any sediment buildup.
- Insert the new CSM RE2540-BLN membrane into the housing with the brine seal end facing the feed water side, ensuring proper orientation according to flow direction markings.
- Reinstall the end cap with a new o-ring if needed, then slowly pressurize the system and flush the membrane for 30-60 minutes before returning to service.
- Monitor permeate quality and system pressure for the first 24 hours to confirm proper seating and performance.
System Requirements
The CSM RE2540-BLN fits standard 2.5" x 40" commercial membrane housings and is compatible with most brackish water RO systems designed for 1000 GPD output. Suitable for municipal tap water, well water, and brackish groundwater sources with TDS levels up to 10,000 ppm. Pre-filtration with 5-micron sediment and carbon filters is required to protect the membrane from fouling and chlorine damage. Works in food and beverage processing, pharmaceutical production, industrial water treatment, and municipal drinking water systems.
