Filter Setup & Maintenance
- Shut off water supply and relieve system pressure before opening your 20" big blue housing
- Remove old filter cartridge, clean housing sump with mild soap and water, inspect o-ring for wear
- Insert IF-SM-AA020B cartridge into housing, ensuring proper seating at the base, then hand-tighten sump
- Slowly restore water pressure and check for leaks around housing cap and connections
- Flush filter for 5 minutes before use, then monitor fluoride levels periodically to track remaining capacity

This filter is a direct compatible replacement for Intelifil FI-AA020BHF (IF-SM-AA020B) and fits all standard 20-inch x 4.5-inch big blue filter housings from Watts and other major manufacturers. Activated alumina effectively reduces fluoride, inorganic arsenic, hydrogen sulfide, hydrogen chloride, and other contaminants, but capacity is impacted by water chemistry. High bicarbonate levels above 100 ppm reduce capacity by 50 percent, and levels above 200 ppm reduce it by 75 percent. Feed water pH and competing ions must be evaluated when sizing this cartridge for fluoride removal applications. For best results, use in systems where fluoride levels are between 2-10 ppm and target effluent below 0.2 ppm.
