Jaco - Union Connector Fitting with Ferrule Nut and Integral Sleeve - Polypropylene
Technical Details
| Brand | Jaco |
| Material | Polypropylene (NSF 61 Listed) |
| Fitting Type | Union Connector with Ferrule Nut and Integral Sleeve |
| Pressure Rating | 50 PSI (1/8"-1/2"); 220 PSI (5/8" and up, or with gripper) |
| Temperature Range | -30°F to 215°F |
| Thread Standard | National Pipe Thread (NPT) |
| Application | Soft plastic tubing connections in low-pressure water systems |
| Chemical Resistance | Good resistance to common water treatment chemicals |
How to Install the Jaco Union Connector
- Measure your existing NPT connection using the reference guide (1/4" NPT measures 0.540" actual diameter, not 0.250"). Select the appropriate fitting size based on actual measured diameter.
- Slide the ferrule nut over the soft plastic tubing before inserting tubing into the connector body. Push tubing firmly into the fitting until it seats completely.
- Hand-tighten the ferrule nut onto the threaded body. The integral sleeve will compress evenly around the tubing to create a secure seal.
- Test the connection at operating pressure. For applications exceeding 50 PSI, add a Jaco gripper accessory to increase pressure rating to 220 PSI.
System Requirements
The Jaco polypropylene union connector is designed for soft plastic tubing in reverse osmosis systems, water filters, and other low-pressure plumbing applications. Compatible with polyethylene, vinyl, and other flexible tubing materials within the -30°F to 215°F temperature range. Not recommended for rigid piping or hard plastic tubing. NPT threading ensures compatibility with standard water filtration components and housings. The NSF 61 certification makes this fitting suitable for potable water systems.
