MKX-B20-RFL Technical Details
| Model Number | KX Technologies MKX-B20-RFL |
| Dimensions | 20" x 4.5" |
| Filtration Rating | 20 Micron |
| Media Type | Coconut Shell GAC (Granular Activated Carbon) |
| Flow Rate | 3 GPM @ 1.0 PSI |
| Temperature Range | 40-180°F |
| Removes | Chlorine, taste, odor, sediment |
| Flow Design | Radial (outside-in) |
How to Install the MKX-B20-RFL Filter
- Shut off water supply and relieve system pressure by opening a downstream faucet
- Unscrew the 20" x 4.5" Big Blue housing sump and remove the old filter cartridge
- Insert the MKX-B20-RFL into the housing with the open end facing up, ensuring proper seating on the center post
- Lubricate the O-ring with clean silicone grease and hand-tighten the sump back onto the housing cap
- Turn water supply back on slowly and flush the filter for 3-5 minutes to remove any carbon fines before use
Housing & System Fit
The KX Technologies MKX-B20-RFL is designed for standard 20" x 4.5" Big Blue filter housings. It fits whole house water filtration systems, well water treatment setups, and commercial installations requiring high-capacity chlorine and taste/odor reduction. This radial flow design is ideal for applications with higher flow demands where traditional axial flow carbon blocks would create excessive pressure drop. Compatible with Filtrex, Pentek, and other brands using 20-inch Big Blue housings with 1.5" NPT ports.
