K2586-BB-2 OZ Technical Details
| Model Number | Omnipure K2586-BB-2 OZ |
| Dimensions | 10" L x 2" W |
| Connection Type | 1/4" NPT (threaded) |
| Filtration Media | GAC with 2 oz Polyphosphate (60/40 blend) |
| Flow Rate | 0.5 GPM maximum |
| Service Life | 1,250 gallons or 6 months |
| Pressure & Temp Limits | 125 PSI max, 100°F max |
| Certification | NSF Standard 42 |
Installing the K2586-BB-2 OZ Inline Filter
- Verify your system uses 1/4" NPT threaded connections (measures approximately 0.540" actual diameter, not 0.250").
- Thread the filter into position between supply line and equipment, hand-tightening connections with thread seal tape on male threads.
- Orient the filter with flow direction arrow pointing toward equipment (ice maker, refrigerator, beverage dispenser, RO system, or drinking fountain).
- Flush the filter for 5 minutes at low pressure to clear carbon fines and activate the polyphosphate scale inhibitor.
- Replace every 1,250 gallons or 6 months, whichever comes first.
Applications for the K2586-BB Inline Filter
The Omnipure K2586-BB-2 OZ works with ice makers, refrigerators, beverage equipment, drinking fountains, under-sink water systems, reverse osmosis systems, and water purification setups requiring both chlorine reduction and scale prevention. The 1/4" NPT threaded connections suit installations where quick-connect fittings are not preferred or where threaded connections provide better reliability. This filter is particularly effective in hard water areas where scale buildup on heating elements and evaporator plates shortens equipment life. The 60/40 GAC-to-phosphate ratio balances chlorine removal with scale inhibition for applications demanding both water quality and equipment protection.
