COMPATIBILITY & APPLICATIONS

Where to Use the K5686

The Omnipure K5686 inline filter installs in refrigerators, ice makers, beverage equipment, drinking fountains, under-counter filtration systems, and as a post-filter in reverse osmosis systems. The dual-action carbon and polyphosphate formula makes this filter ideal for applications where both taste improvement and scale prevention are needed. Quick-connect and NPT thread options ensure compatibility with most residential and light commercial plumbing configurations. Note that NPT fittings measure larger than their nominal size: 1/4" NPT measures approximately 0.540" in actual diameter, and 3/8" NPT measures approximately 0.675" when measured with a ruler.

💧 Replace the K5686 every six months or 2000 gallons to maintain effective chlorine reduction and scale inhibition. The polyphosphate media prevents hard water deposits from forming on ice maker evaporators and beverage equipment heating elements.
