Hydronix - SDC Series - 10" x 4.5" Melt Blown Sediment Filter
10" x 4.5" Melt Blown Sediment Filter
Reliable pre-filtration with expanded surface area for longer service life in residential and commercial applications
The Hydronix SDC Series delivers economical sediment filtration through a precision melt blown construction that maximizes dirt-holding capacity. Its larger 4.5" diameter cartridge design provides extended surface area compared to standard 2.5" filters, making it ideal for pre-filtration in reverse osmosis systems, post-filtration in GAC applications, and general sediment reduction in whole house and well water installations.
Hydronix SDC Filter Specs
| Dimensions | 10" x 4.5" |
| Filter Type | Melt Blown Sediment |
| Micron Ratings | 1, 5, 20 micron |
| Material | Polypropylene |
| Service Life | 3-6 months (water dependent) |
| Max Temp | 165°F (74°C) |
| Applications | RO pre-filtration, whole house, well water, commercial |
Where to Use This Filter
The Hydronix SDC Series fits standard 10" x 4.5" big blue filter housings and is commonly used as the first stage in reverse osmosis systems to protect membranes from sediment damage. It also works as a final polishing filter after granular activated carbon (GAC) tanks to capture carbon fines, and as a standalone sediment filter in whole house or well water systems where increased dirt-holding capacity is needed. Select 20 micron for heavy sediment loads, 5 micron for general use, or 1 micron for fine particulate removal.
