IPW Industries Inc.

20"x2.5" KDF-55-GAC Dual-Media Filter Cartridge

Catalytic carbon and KDF-55 media for chlorine, chloramines, and heavy metal reduction in whole house and well water systems
1.5 Lb KDF-55 Media High-Capacity GAC 20" x 2.5" Standard Heavy Metal Reduction
The IPW Industries W-W-GAC-KDF combines granular activated carbon with KDF-55 copper-zinc alloy media in a 20-inch standard cartridge format. This dual-media configuration targets chlorine, chloramines, hydrogen sulfide, and soluble heavy metals like lead, mercury, and iron in whole house or well water applications.
HOW IT WORKS

Two-Stage Catalytic Reduction Process

1
KDF-55

Catalytic Oxidation-Reduction

Copper-zinc alloy media triggers redox reactions that convert chlorine to chloride, reduce soluble heavy metals, and control scale, bacteria, and algae through electrochemical exchange.

2
GAC

High-Capacity Adsorption

Granular activated carbon removes residual chlorine, chloramines, organic compounds, and taste and odor contaminants through surface adsorption across a high-porosity structure.

Service life: 6–12 months depending on water chemistry and flow rate
COMPATIBILITY

Standard 20" x 2.5" Housings

The W-W-GAC-KDF cartridge fits all standard 20-inch filter housings with 2.5-inch outer diameter capacity. Commonly used in whole house systems after sediment pre-filtration, well water treatment trains, and point-of-entry applications where chlorine and heavy metal reduction are priorities. Recommended flow rate: 2–5 GPM per cartridge. Replace when chlorine taste returns or every 6–12 months under typical municipal or well water conditions.
