Rusco 2" Polyester or Stainless Steel Sediment Trapper Filter
2" Polyester or Stainless Steel Sediment Filter Screen
Reusable spin-down filter element for well water, irrigation, and whole-house sediment removal. Choose from nine mesh sizes from 24 to 1000 microns.
Mechanical sediment screening with cleanable polyester or stainless steel mesh
Reusable Element
Cleanable polyester or stainless steel screen eliminates the need for disposable cartridges. Rinse and reinstall for years of service.
Nine Mesh Options
From coarse 24-mesh (711 micron) for shale and debris down to ultra-fine 1000-mesh (15 micron) for pre-RO treatment. Match the screen to the sediment type.
Spin-Down Chamber
Sediment settles to the bottom of the filter body where it's flushed through the drain valve. Screen stays cleaner longer between maintenance.
2" Flow Capacity
Larger 2-inch element handles higher flow rates for irrigation systems, large homes, and commercial applications without pressure loss.
Match mesh size to your sediment and application
| Mesh | Microns | Opening | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| 24 | 711µ | .028" | Shale, shell, general debris |
| 30 | 533µ | .021" | Debris and coarse particles |
| 40 | 381µ | .015" | Pipe scale, coarse sand, sprinklers |
| 60 | 254µ | .010" | Sand-sensitive valves, aerators |
| 100 | 152µ | .006" | Fine sand from new wells, drip irrigation, poultry systems |
| 140 | 104µ | .004" | Fogger nozzles, very fine grit |
| 250 | 61µ | .0024" | Very fine sand, RO pre-treatment |
| 500 | 30µ | .0012" | Ultra-fine pre-treatment |
| 1000 | 15µ | .0006" | Reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration pre-treatment |
Rusco 2" sediment trapper systems
This element fits Rusco 2-inch sediment trapper housings. Available in polyester mesh (FS2-24ST through FS2-1000ST) and stainless steel mesh (FS2-30STSS, FS2-60STSS, FS2-100STSS, FS2-140STSS, FS2-200STSS). Element dimensions are 10" height by 1-7/8" diameter. If algae growth is a concern with clear filter bodies, use a Rusco Sun Shield to block light.
Clean when pressure drop increases or sediment accumulates
Flush Sediment
Open the bottom drain valve to flush accumulated sediment from the chamber. Takes 30 seconds and requires no disassembly.
Remove and Rinse
Unscrew filter body, remove screen element, and rinse under pressure. Use a soft brush if sediment has embedded in the mesh.
Deep Clean
Soak polyester screens in mild acid solution or caustic cleaner to dissolve mineral scale. Stainless screens tolerate harsher chemicals for heavy buildup.
Replace Screen
Replace element if mesh is torn, permanently clogged, or pressure drop doesn't improve after cleaning. Polyester typically lasts 3-5 years, stainless steel much longer.
Low Operating Cost
No disposable cartridges to buy. One reusable screen lasts years with periodic rinsing.
High Flow Capacity
2-inch element size handles irrigation, commercial, and high-demand residential applications without restricting flow.
Precise Filtration
Nine mesh sizes let you target specific sediment types from heavy debris down to silt-level particles.
