  5. To remove, use a SharkBite Disconnect Clip or Disconnect Tongs. Standard removal tools will not work with this connector design.
COMPATIBILITY

Approved Applications

This connector is approved for both electric and gas water heaters equipped with a flue vent. It works with all common residential plumbing pipe types including PEX, copper, CPVC, and PE-RT. The flexible braided construction compensates for minor misalignment between existing pipes and water heater inlets, reducing the need for additional fittings or custom angles. Ideal for retrofit installations, tight mechanical rooms, and situations where rigid connectors won't fit.

🔧 Pro Tip: Before connecting, turn the water supply off and relieve line pressure. Even though SharkBite connectors can be installed on wet lines, starting with a depressurized system gives you better control during alignment and prevents water spray if you need to reposition the connector.
