| Country of Origin | Made in USA |
Filter Replacement Procedure
- Shut off water supply and relieve system pressure by opening a downstream faucet or using the pressure relief valve on your housing.
- Unscrew the filter housing sump using a housing wrench, remove the spent cartridge, and inspect the o-ring for wear or damage.
- Clean the housing interior with mild soap and water, then insert the new Hytrex cartridge with the open end facing down (unless your housing specifies otherwise).
- Lubricate the o-ring with clean silicone grease, hand-tighten the sump, then restore water pressure and check for leaks.
- Flush the new cartridge for 3-5 minutes to purge any residual manufacturing fines before returning the system to service.
System Applications
This 30" x 2.5" Hytrex cartridge fits proprietary long-body housings designed for extended filter runs in oil and gas, industrial, and high-capacity residential applications. The graded density structure—with looser outer layers and tighter inner layers—maximizes dirt-holding capacity and prevents premature surface plugging. Wide chemical compatibility makes this filter suitable for use in pre-filtration for reverse osmosis systems, whole-house sediment removal, and hydrocarbon capture in upstream and downstream petroleum processing. Select micron rating based on your water quality: 20-75 micron for heavy sediment, 5-10 micron for general purpose, 1-3 micron for fine particulate and RO feed water protection.
