Four-layer meltblown polypropylene cartridge engineered for whole-house, well, and commercial applications. Available in 1, 5, 10, and 25 micron ratings.

Gradient density filtration
Four-layer meltblown polypropylene structure captures sediment progressively from outer to inner layers, extending service life and preventing premature pressure drop.
UV pre-filtration essential
Removes particulate that allows bacteria to shield from UV exposure. Without sediment pre-filtration, contaminants piggyback through UV chambers unaffected.
Municipal and well rated
Handles sand, silt, rust, and scale from both chlorinated city water and untreated well sources. Temperature rated from 40°F to 145°F for diverse installations.
Industry standard sizing
9-7/8" length, 4.5" outer diameter, 1-7/64" inner diameter. Fits standard 10" x 4.5" housings from most manufacturers without adapter required.

Fits standard 10" x 4.5" housings
The Valuetrex VX Series cartridge is compatible with any filter housing designed for 10-inch by 4.5-inch sediment filters, including whole-house systems, well water treatment assemblies, and commercial pre-filtration stages. Commonly used upstream of reverse osmosis membranes, UV sterilizers, carbon block filters, and water softeners.
Replacement schedule by application
Well water systems
Higher sediment loads from untreated sources require more frequent changes. Monitor pressure drop across housing.
Municipal whole-house
Pre-treated city water extends cartridge life. Replace when flow rate decreases noticeably or pressure gauge indicates restriction.
RO and UV pre-filtration
Critical protection stage for downstream components. Replace on schedule to prevent membrane fouling or UV shadowing.
Commercial applications
High-volume usage may require monthly inspection. Install pressure gauges before and after housing to track differential.
