How to Install the Watts MAXETW-30 Filter
- Shut off water supply and relieve system pressure before opening your 30-inch filter housing.
- Remove old cartridge and clean housing interior with mild soap solution, rinse thoroughly, and inspect o-rings for wear or damage.
- Insert the Watts MAXETW-30 cartridge vertically into housing, ensuring proper seating on the center post and flat contact with base.
- Reinstall housing cap with even hand-tightening, then turn water supply back on slowly and inspect for leaks.
- Flush the new carbon block filter for 5 minutes at full flow to remove carbon fines and activate the media.
Housing Requirements
The Watts MAXETW-30 fits standard 30-inch filter housings with 2 7/8-inch inner diameter, including Watts, Pentek, Hydronix, and most commercial-grade Big Blue systems. Verify your housing dimensions before ordering, as 30-inch cartridges require jumbo housings and are not interchangeable with 20-inch or 10-inch housings. This thick-walled carbon block design works well in whole-house, point-of-entry, or commercial applications where chlorine, taste, odor, and organic chemical reduction are priorities.
