Installing Your String Wound Cartridge
- Shut off water supply and relieve pressure from your filter housing before opening
- Remove old cartridge and clean the housing interior with a mild sanitizing solution
- Check o-rings and sump seals for wear, replace if necessary before installing new cartridge
- Insert the Watts SF-20-425 cartridge into housing, ensuring proper seating in both top and bottom
- Reassemble housing, turn on water slowly, and check for leaks before returning to full pressure
Applications & Chemical Resistance
The Watts SF-20-425 fits standard 20" x 4.5" filter housings and is compatible with mineral acids, organic solvents, caustic soda, ferric hydroxide, plating solutions, ethyl alcohol, petroleum and vegetable oils, oxidizing agents, alkalis, organic acids, potable water, demineralized water, photographic solutions, and pre-membrane filtration systems. The polypropylene construction provides excellent micro-organism resistance and can be easily incinerated with minimal ash residue. Ideal for commercial facilities, whole-house sediment reduction, well water treatment, and industrial process filtration where chemical compatibility is critical.
