Installing Your AF-10-2210 Cartridge
- Shut off water supply and relieve system pressure by opening a downstream faucet or using the housing's pressure release button.
- Unscrew the filter housing sump using a filter wrench, remove the old cartridge, and clean the housing interior and o-ring with water.
- Insert the Aries AF-10-2210 cartridge into the housing, ensuring it seats properly on the center standpipe.
- Replace the housing sump with a new lubricated o-ring if needed, hand-tighten firmly, then restore water pressure slowly and check for leaks.
- Flush the new cartridge for 3-5 minutes to clear carbon fines and activate the KDF media before normal use.
System Integration
The AF-10-2210 fits all standard 10-inch filter housings designed for 2.5" diameter cartridges, making it compatible with both point-of-entry whole-house systems and under-sink reverse osmosis pre-filtration stages. The KDF-85 media specifically targets iron and hydrogen sulfide, making this cartridge ideal for well water applications where these contaminants are present alongside chlorine or taste and odor issues. Use in RO systems as a specialty pre-filter, or in dedicated iron reduction housings as a standalone solution. Not recommended for municipal water with low iron levels, where standard GAC or KDF-55 cartridges are more efficient.
