| Active Surface Area | 13 ft² (1.2 m²) |
| Salt Rejection | 99.0% stabilized |
| Operating Pressure | 100 psig (6.9 bar) nominal |
| Test Conditions | 500 ppm NaCl, 77°F (25°C), 8% recovery |
| Flow Variance | ±20% per element |
Installing the XLE-2521 Membrane
- Ensure the membrane housing is clean and free of debris before inserting the XLE-2521 element into a compatible 2.5" x 21" pressure vessel.
- Install the membrane with the brine seal oriented correctly, ensuring proper seating against the end cap to prevent bypass flow.
- Flush the system at low pressure for 30-60 minutes after installation to remove preservatives and allow the membrane to stabilize before bringing to full operating pressure.
- Monitor permeate flow and TDS during the first 48 hours of operation, as new membranes typically stabilize within this period.
System Requirements
The Filmtec XLE-2521 fits standard 2.5" x 21" commercial RO housings and is designed for small commercial systems processing less than one gallon per minute of purified water. This extra low energy element works best with tap water feed sources and is compatible with systems using lower cost pumps and components due to its reduced pressure requirements. Suitable for applications including beverage preparation, light food service, small laboratory use, and other commercial settings requiring consistent high-purity water production.
