KX Technologies - 06-250-20-MATRIKX - 20" x 2.5" MatriKX Pb1 - 0.5 Micron - Chlorine/Chloramine, VOC, CYST, Lead Filter
20" x 2.5" 0.5 Micron Lead & Cyst Reduction Carbon Block Filter
Extruded carbon block with ion-exchange media for exceptional lead reduction, cyst removal, and chlorine taste & odor control in whole-house and well water applications
Dual-action lead reduction with broad-spectrum chemical filtration
Lead Reduction Technology
Ion-exchange media targets soluble lead while 0.5 micron filtration captures lead-containing particulates. Dual mechanisms for comprehensive lead removal from municipal and well water.
Cyst & Pathogen Control
Nominal 0.5 micron rating removes Cryptosporidium, Giardia, Entamoeba, and Toxoplasma cysts. Critical protection for immunocompromised users and well water systems.
VOC & Chemical Reduction
Extruded carbon block construction provides high surface area for adsorption of volatile organic compounds, pesticides, herbicides, and industrial contaminants.
Chlorine & Chloramine
High-capacity reduction of chlorine taste and odor plus chloramine degradation. Protects downstream equipment and improves drinking water palatability.
GreenBlock Extrusion
KX proprietary manufacturing process creates uniform density throughout the block. Exceptionally low pressure drop with high dirt-holding capacity and structural integrity.

Fits standard 20-inch filter housings
The KX MatriKX 06-250-20-MATRIKX fits any standard 20" x 2.5" filter housing with threaded or slip-fit endcaps. Direct replacement for discontinued model 06-250-125-20. Compatible with whole-house filtration systems, under-sink housings, and well water treatment configurations using 20-inch cartridge vessels. Common housing models include Pentek 150234, Pentair Omni, Culligan HD-950A, and GE FXHTC.
Replacement schedule for optimal performance
Municipal Water
Replace cartridge every 6 months or 5,000 gallons for chlorinated municipal supplies with typical lead, cyst, and VOC exposure. Monitor pressure drop across housing.
Well Water
Replace more frequently in well water applications due to higher sediment load and potential iron or manganese content. Pre-filtration with 5-10 micron sediment cartridge extends life.
Low-Use Applications
For vacation homes, seasonal properties, or low daily volume usage (under 2 gallons per day), replace annually regardless of gallons processed to prevent bacterial growth.
Performance Indicators
Change cartridge immediately if flow rate drops significantly, water develops taste or odor, or if turbidity appears. Do not exceed 12 months regardless of volume.
NSF Material Safety
Tested and certified for use in potable drinking water systems
High Dirt Capacity
Extruded block construction holds sediment without channeling
Low Pressure Drop
Maintains flow rates even as filter loads with contaminants
GreenBlock Tech
Sustainable manufacturing process with consistent density throughout
