Pentek - P-Series - 10" x 2.5" Spun Polypropylene Sediment Filter

The Pentek P-Series spun polypropylene sediment filter uses true gradient density construction to trap sediment from coarse to fine without imparting taste or odor. Available in 1, 5, and 25 micron ratings, this 10" x 2.5" coreless cartridge delivers reliable whole-house and RO pre-filtration with superior chemical resistance.

INSTALLATION & USE

Installing Your P-Series Filter

  1. Shut off water supply and relieve system pressure before opening the filter housing.
  2. Remove the old cartridge and clean the housing sump with mild soap and water, checking the o-ring for wear.
  3. Insert the new Pentek P-Series cartridge vertically into the housing, ensuring it seats properly on the center standpipe.
  4. Hand-tighten the housing sump, turn water supply back on, and check for leaks before returning to service.
  5. Replace the cartridge every 3-6 months depending on sediment load and pressure drop, or when flow rate decreases noticeably.
COMPATIBILITY

Housing & System Fit

The Pentek P-Series fits all standard 10" x 2.5" filter housings including Pentek 10-BB series, GE FXWSC, and similar slim 10-inch housings. This filter works as a first-stage sediment filter in whole-house applications or as RO pre-filtration to protect membranes from particulate fouling. The gradient density meltblown construction captures larger particles at the outer layers while finer sediment is trapped deeper within the media, extending service life compared to surface-only filtration.

🔧 Pro Tip: Choose your micron rating based on sediment type: 25 micron for heavy sand and silt in well water, 5 micron for general municipal pre-filtration, and 1 micron for fine sediment protection ahead of RO membranes or UV systems.
