Pentek - PD-Series 20" x 2.5" Polydepth Sediment Filter

Pentek PD-Series Sediment Filtration

20" x 2.5" Polydepth Sediment Filter Cartridge

Thermally bonded polypropylene microfiber construction for whole-house and well water applications
Available in 1, 5, 10, 25 Micron Temperature Rated to 175°F Food Grade Construction Dual-Gradient Depth Design
The Pentek PD-Series Polydepth cartridge uses thermally bonded polypropylene microfibers with a rigid center core to deliver consistent sediment removal without fiber release or brittleness. Micro-grooved surface channels increase effective filtration area while maintaining structural integrity across a wide temperature range from 40°F to 175°F.

CONSTRUCTION

Why Thermal Bonding Matters

Unlike resin-bonded cartridges that become brittle over time, the Pentek Polydepth filter uses heat fusion to bond polypropylene microfibers without adhesives or binders. This meltblown construction eliminates fiber migration into your water, maintains consistent flow characteristics throughout the service life, and resists chemical degradation and bacterial colonization. The rigid polypropylene core prevents collapse under pressure differentials common in well water and whole-house systems. Micro-groove channels molded into the surface increase dirt-holding capacity without adding pressure drop.

COMPATIBILITY

Housing & Application Requirements

The PD-Series 20" x 2.5" cartridge fits all standard 20-inch filter housings with 2.5-inch outer diameter capacity. Commonly used in whole-house filtration systems, well water pretreatment, food and beverage processing, and as sediment prefiltration ahead of carbon blocks or reverse osmosis membranes. Chemical resistance to most acids, alkalis, and organic solvents makes this cartridge suitable for industrial process water and laboratory applications where taste, odor, and color transfer are unacceptable.
