- Insert the Watts GAC10N-KDF cartridge into the housing, ensuring it seats properly on the center post
- Hand-tighten the sump back onto the housing cap until snug, using the wrench only for final quarter-turn if needed
- Turn water back on slowly and flush the filter for 3-5 minutes to remove carbon fines before use
Where the GAC10N-KDF Works
This filter fits all standard 10-inch housings with 2.5-inch diameter capacity, including Watts, Pentek, Hydronix, and generic brands. It works as a standalone taste and odor filter in whole-house systems, as a pre-filter stage in reverse osmosis systems, or in any application requiring chlorine and heavy metal reduction. The KDF media addition makes it particularly effective in warm water conditions where bacteria growth is a concern, and provides an extra layer of heavy metal reduction beyond what standard GAC offers alone.
