Replacing Your Q5615-P Cartridge
- Turn off the water supply to your system or allow the Twist Tap valve to automatically shut off when you twist the filter body counterclockwise to disconnect it from the Q-Series head.
- Remove the old Q5615-P cartridge and dispose of it properly. Inspect the Q-Series head O-rings for wear or damage.
- Align the new Q5615-P filter with the Q-Series head and twist clockwise until it locks securely into place. The Twist Tap valve will open automatically.
- Turn the water supply back on and flush the new carbon block filter for 3-5 minutes to remove any carbon fines and activate the polyphosphate media.
- Check all connections for leaks and monitor system performance. Replace the cartridge every 1,500 gallons or when you notice a reduction in flow rate or water quality.
Q-Series System Requirements
The Omnipure Q5615-P is a replacement cartridge that requires an existing Omnipure Q-Series filter head with twist-off capability. Q-Series heads are available with 1/4" quick-connect fittings, 1/4" NPT female threads, or 3/8" NPT female threads. This filter is commonly used in residential reverse osmosis systems, commercial ice makers, refrigerator water lines, beverage dispensers, and under-sink drinking water systems where lead reduction and scale inhibition are priorities. The 1 micron carbon block provides effective cyst removal while the polyphosphate media protects downstream equipment from scale buildup and corrosion.
