INSTALLATION & USE

Replacing Your ChlorPlus-BB Cartridge

  1. Shut off water supply and relieve system pressure by opening a downstream faucet
  2. Unscrew the Big Blue sump housing using a filter wrench, remove the spent cartridge, and clean the housing interior
  3. Insert the new Pentek ChlorPlus-BB cartridge, ensuring it seats properly on the standpipe
  4. Reinstall the sump with a lubricated o-ring, turn water back on, and check for leaks
  5. Flush the system for 3-5 minutes to purge carbon fines and prime the filter
COMPATIBILITY

Housing & System Requirements

The ChlorPlus-BB fits all standard 10-inch Big Blue filter housings with a 4.5-inch diameter sump, including Pentek, Culligan, GE, and Watts models. This cartridge is particularly effective in municipal water systems using chloramines for disinfection, as well as well water applications requiring sediment and taste/odor control. Recommended replacement interval is 6-12 months depending on water quality and household consumption.
